This rhizomatous species is native to Mexico. Leaves 10-15 cm in diameter, almost roundish, cordate at their base, densely covered with short hairs. Leaves are green, transversely striped with purple-brown along their venation. Flowers white, in inflorescences that do not exceed the leaves. Very sensitive to winter humidity if temperatures are low. In winter keep above 13°C; it also can withstand lower temperatures but the leaves are prone to brown spots in such condition. Well drained soil and shaded exposure.
