Product details
This species has monocarpic clumping rosettes (each rosette dies after flowering, but new basal offsets are produced) and grows wild in Brazil on sands and on trees in the coastal forests. Leaves 25-70 cm long and 4-6 cm wide, stiff, green banded with light grey, toothed at the margin and tipped with a 10 mm long spine. The inflorescence is carried by a 20-40 cm long stalk and is formed with numerous, very showy, pink bracts. Flowers are not very showy and are white tipped with blue. Well drained soil. Keep slightly shaded. Allow a partial drying among waterings. Not hardy.
